Paul 'Mudd' Murphy plays Eighty Six

We'll be starting the Bank Holiday weekend in fine style as we welcome Paul 'Mudd' Murphy to Jam St Cafe this Friday.

Paul is the owner and label head of Claremont 56, which over the last 5 years has developed into one of the most consistent labels around; releasing tracks and albums by Holger Czukay (co-founder of Can),  Cantoma (Cafe Del Mar resident Phil Mison), The Idjut Boys, Mountaineer, Almunia and Recloose, among many others.  

Claremont 56 focuses not just on quality music but Paul's design background means they're always beautifully packaged collectable products too.  Recent collaborations with Mark Warrington and Emily Bucknell have produced some stunning cover designs for Almunia, Pagua and Torn Sail's Birds.      
Paul also records, produces and remixes his own music many of which are firm Eighty Six favourites. His collaborations with Ben Smith (Smith & Mudd) has resulted in two fantastic albums, Blue River and Le Suivant with Kevin Pollard as (Mudd & Pollard) releasing Villa Stavros, Scaffold and Toko Yaki.    

Claremont has a smaller sister label 'Leng' and also puts out 'The Originals' Cd compilation series where respects DJ's like Moonboots (Aficionado), Balearic Mike and Matthew & Jolyon (Lowlife) have selected inspirational tracks from their collections. Again, all beautifully packaged and accompanied by the photography of Ian Williams (Jan Hammered).
