The Kept Impulses tour brings together three gifted young music makers who weave folk, contemporary classical and song writing into a modern context.
Piano player Hauschka (FatCat) is a singer/multi-instrumentalist from Germany and James Blackshaw is a brilliant 12 string guitarist from Hastings . Local girl Nancy Elizabeth, is signed to Manchester’s Leaf Label. These three artists will be perform their own material, then guest on selected tracks before finish off together with an ensemble performance.
I’m looking forward to going to seeing the tour in Manchester on Saturday 15th May. The Band on the Wall is a fantastic intimate venue, perfect for this type of show. I opened last Sunday’s radio show with James Blackshaw’s ‘The Cross’ and Nancy’s latest album ‘Wrought Iron’ is well worth seeking out.
