With the Greenman festival just 2 weeks away, we decided this week to go all beardy and therefore the show was a Greenman special featuring only records by artists who are either playing at this year's festival or who have played there over the last couple of years.The Greenman has taken place every year since 2003, when it started as a single day event for 300 people, it has been held for the last 3 years in the beautiful surroundings of Glanusk Country Park, nestled under Sugar Loaf Mountain on the edge of the Brecon Beacons. The festival capacity rose to 10,000 in 2007, it has now been capped at this so that it can keep it's more relaxed and personal feeling than some larger festivals.
Musically the festival covers pysch, folk, americana and some more electronic sounds, acts playing this year include Wilco, Vetiver, Bon Iver, Hawkwind, Animal Collective, Wooden Shjips and many more. Apparently tickets are nearly sold out so you'll have to hurry if you fancy attending.
