The Leisure Society

The Leisure Society is a band that was formed by Nick Hemming, formerly of 90's indie group She Talks To Angels of which actor Paddy Considine and film director Shane Meadows were also members.

Hemming's connection to Meadows led to him writing and performing music for the films A Room For Romeo Brass and Dead Man's Shoes.

In 2006 Hemming relocated from the Midlands to London to work with multi-instrumentalist Christian Hardy, the pair subsequently built a live band involving amongst others members of Brighton's Wilkommen Collective. The band's debut album The Sleeper was released in March 2009, it is a lush selection of anglicised americana featuring beautiful melodies and is a firm favourite of ours.
