Dirty French Psychedelics

Dark and Lovely are a French record label that are probably best known for releasing various edits by the likes of Pilooski. Their latest release is a 12 track compilation album named Dirty French Psychedelics, this album is a collection of original releases from the 70s and not surprisingly given the title by French artists.

Despite the psychedelics part of the title, I would actually say the range of styles featured is wider than traditional psychedelia with folk-tinged rock and pop oddities featuring, all with that typical gallic flair. Artists featured include Christophe, Francois De Roubaix and Brigitte Fontaine.

I really can't recommend this album enough and think it will be a staple in by record bag for a long time to come.
