This month's show represents a slightly sad landmark, it's the last ever show we'll record together 'live' in the Balearic Basement. Just under 13 years ago we parted company with Unity Radio and decided to continue doing the show as a podcast, at the same time I moved into a new house which had a partially converted cellar, the Balearic Basement was born and became the base for our show for the next 10 years with us getting together once a month to record.
During that time we've had spells of being on Purple Radio and doing podcast only before joining 1BTN in 2019. Covid put a stop to us recording together so since then I have recorded in the basement and we've put the show together from separate sections. A growing family has however meant that the cellar is now going to be a bedroom so I've lost my studio. We therefore felt it was only right to return to how things started and all get together to records this month's show.
Don't worry, we'll still be continuing to do the show, but this month is probably the last time you'll get to hear Jeff chortling in the background while we introduce the tracks. Hope you enjoy the show, we'll be back on 1BTN with the next instalment on Sunday 21st August.
